CORBETT, Helen M. - age 97, of Flushing, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at her residence. Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Stephen Hittle officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Wednesday and 10 AM until service Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International. Helen was born September 26, 1914 in Flint, the daughter of Clarence and Vena (Dennis) Garnett. She was a 1933 graduate of Flint Central High School. She married Almon Corbett on October 11, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1963. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and a former member of the Free Methodist Church. Surviving are: three children, Ronald (Kathie) Corbett, Fred (Cathi) Corbett and Elaine (Ken) Jackman; six grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Fitzko, Joel (Suzanne) Eldred, Shari (John) Stelzer, Danielle Hammon, Andrew Corbett and Amanda Corbett; six great-grandchildren; brother, Cleo Dennis; sister-in-law, Carolyn Garnett; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: grandson, Anthony Corbett; sister, Elda and husband, Henry Breadehoft; brother, Kenneth Garnett; sister-in-law, Edith Dennis.
