Helen I. ADAMSON

May 28, 1914 — February 17, 2012

ADAMSON, Helen I. -- age 97 of Swartz Creek, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012. Services will be 11 AM Friday, February 24 at the Flushing Presbyterian Church, 5010 N. McKinley Rd., Flushing, Pastor Teresa Peterson officiating. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the charity of choice. Helen was born in Detroit on May 28, 1914 the daughter of the late Julius and Ella Fender. She was a 1932 graduate of Flint Northern High School. She married Elmer Adamson in 1935 in Flint. She was a licensed beautician for many years and then returned to school in 1961 to become a licensed practical nurse, working in that profession at McLaren Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 1978. She was a life long member of Community Presbyterian Church in Flint, the Order of Eastern Star and American Business Women. Helen enjoyed travel, playing cards with her many friends and loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by son, Edward (Carole) Adamson; daughter, Beverly Tuttle; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Malvina Middleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 1961; brother, Julius Fender; son-in-law, John Tuttle; brother-in-law, Ralph Middleton. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Swank Assisted Living in Swartz Creek, where she resided for the past 6 years, for their compassionate and loving care.
