Harry KARNOWSKI

KARNOWSKI, Harry - Age 83, of Linden, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. The Reverend Joshua Hoover will officiate. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday, 1-3 & 5-8 PM Friday. An O.E.S Memorial service will be held 7 PM Friday under the auspices of Linden Chapter #175, followed by a Masonic Memorial service under the auspice of Linden Lodge #132 F&AM. Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of one's choice. Harry was born September 14, 1926 in Chicago, the son of Harry A. and Catherine (Arkin) Karnowski. Mr. Karnowski was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. He was married to Eveline Woodhall on September 16, 1950. Harry served as Past Master of Linden Lodge #132 F&AM and served as the Secretary for 35 years. He was a member of Linden Chapter #175 O.E.S, where he served as Past Patron. He was also a member of the Elf Khurafeh Shrine and Linden V.F.W. where he twice served as Post Commander. Mr. Karnowski retired from Dupont with 38 years of service. He was also involved with many other local civic groups. Surviving are: wife, Eveline; children, Steven (Jenny), Andrew, Michael (Nancy), Catherine (Doug) DeWitt, Deborah Karnowski; grandchildren, Michele and Alexandria DeWitt, Jaclyn and Ashley Karnowski, Tina Wolf, Christopher Karnowski, Cory (Ben) Sexton; four great-grandchildren.
