Harry Edwards

EDWARDS, Harry John "Jack" of Fenton, MI, born July 7th 1944 passed away peacefully, at home of natural causes on August 9th 2015. Harry retired from GM Metal Fab Flint in 2006 with 42 years as a skilled pipefitter and member of UAW Local 659. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve for 8 years. He was also a long standing member of the NSRA (National Street Rod Association). Harry had a great passion for cars starting at a young age with drag racing then eventually moving into building meticulous street rods. Harry won many awards, trophy's and best of show for many of the cars he built himself. He received a special invite for his 1948 Studebaker to be the feature car at the St. Ignace car show. He also enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, creating stained glass, and enjoyed working in his yard. Harry was true jack of all trades there was nothing he could not fix or make. He received acknowledgment from GM for many suggestions for improvement and cost savings that were implemented. His pride was raising his family on Lake Fenton and he also enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Hubbard Lake with family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Paulette (Mitchell) Edwards of Fenton, daughter Rachele and Greg Davidson of Grand Rapids, Son Erik Jon Edwards of Fenton, his beloved Shih Tzu Maggie and grandchildren Evan Mitchell Davidson, Olivia Nichole Davidson, Trevor Jack Davidson, Johanna Edwards (deceased) of Germany, Karla Marie Edwards of Germany, and Liliane Nora Edwards of Germany; as well as mother Marcena L Edwards of Virginia, mother in law Shirley P Mitchell of Fenton, sister Judy Sheridan of Virginia, two special brother in laws Gary J Mitchell and Craig P Mitchell both of Fenton. Harry was a Cancer survivor and received treatment at U of M Cancer Center Ann Arbor through direction of Dr. Joseph Trollman of Fenton. A private memorial has taken place.
