BUCKLES, Harry George - Age 71, of Fenton, died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Vicinia Gardens in Fenton. Visitation will be held 11:30-1:30 PM Monday, April 10, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Home Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, with a rosary at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. George was born in Flint, on April 11, 1945, the son of Harry and Elaine (Boggs) Buckles and resided in the Fenton area his entire life. He graduated from St. John Vianney Catholic School in 1963, at the top of his class. He had the honor of attending college classes during his senior year of high school and received the "Boys Town" award. George also excelled in athletics. He participated in track and basketball, among other sports. After graduating, he attended Mott Community College where he received an Associate Degree. George was employed at the Michigan Clinical Lab as a medical technician for 25 years. He enjoyed making people laugh with his joke-telling and crossword puzzles. He was also a member of the Corvette Club. Surviving are: mother, Elaine Buckles; brother, David L. Buckles; niece Elisa Wittersheim; nephew; David (Tamara) Buckles; great-nieces, Chloe Wittersheim, Clarissa and Emily; great nephew, Luke Buckles; best friend, Tim; and many aunts and uncles. Harry was preceded in death by: his father, Harry; grandparents, George (Gertrude) Boggs and Frieda (Wallace) Eberly.
