Harper Lily Wittenberg, affectionately known as Harpy, passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2024, at her home at the tender age of 22. Born to Wendy Wise and Andrew Wittenberg on March 15, 2002. Harper was a shining light in her family and school, Marion Crouse Instructional Center.
Harper’s life was filled with many challenges dealing with the effects of Autism, Excited Catatonia, Scoliosis, and most recently Seizures. Though her life was hard at times, when Harper was happy her pure joy was contagious! Her bright smile, giggles, loud jumps, and twirls warmed the hearts of her family and anyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Harper loved water! She loved to go to the pool, take baths, or to simply splash in the sink. She also loved to play with musical light up toys, especially her turtle! She was never far from her “Fishy” or “Anna Banana.” They always brought her comfort and happiness. Another adored activity was eating! Watermelon, pizza, “buttery” croissants, burgers, fries, french toast sticks, and sausage were among her favorites.
Harper is survived by her loving parents, Wendy and Jason Wise, Andrew Wittenberg and Jackie Elcoate; her sister, Kendall Wittenberg; her grandparents, “Nana” Mary Harper, Gigi Wittenberg, Marian and Greg McClellan, Richard and Genevieve Elcoate, and Ginny and Stephen Wise; her Step Siblings, Kendall, Rayce, and Ian Jidas; aunts and uncles James Wittenberg, Erin Hartman, Connie Epps, TJ and Charity Wise, Annette Elcoate, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who deeply mourn her passing. She was predeceased by her grandparents, “Papa” Darrell Harper, Michael Wittenberg, and Myra White.
A service to celebrate Harper's life will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd, Grand Blanc, MI 48507. Extended family and friends are welcome to visit from 3:00-5:00 pm with a Final Farewell Service at 5:00 pm.
Harper Lily will be remembered as a bright, sweet soul who made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her memory will be cherished forever by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Memorial contributions can be made to Marion Crouse Instructional Center, specifically for her beloved teacher Mrs. Stephanie Mikalakis.
