Harper M. SCOTT

SCOTT, Harper M., Age 93, Of Flint, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at his residence. Services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9PM Friday and 10AM until time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation. Harper was born May 8, 1916 in Flint, the son of the late G. Roland and Ethel M. (Parsell) Scott. He was a Graduate of Flint Central High School . Harper earned his Business Degree from Michigan State University, where he also played baseball from 1936-1938 and was the team Captain in 1938. He married Mamie A. Bessolo February 8, 1958 in Flint, she preceded him in death July 13, 2004. Mr. Scott owned and operated Tremayne and Scott Clothing Store Downtown Flint for 30 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Flint for 75 years; Flint Golf Club for 50 years and Michigan State University Varsity Alumni. Surviving are: son, Van of Flint; grandson, Ryan(Kristen) Scott; Great Grandchildren Madison and Tanner Scott and the Bessolo Family.
