SLOAN, Harold Frank, Jr. - Age 86, of Fenton, died Sunday, April 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Dawn Stoker officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM, where a Order of Eastern Star and Masonic Memorial will begin at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Linden Order of Eastern Stars #175 or the Linden Masonic Lodge #132 F.&A.M. Harold was born June 26, 1931 in Clawson, the son of Harold Frank Sloan, Sr. and Helen E. Sheldon. He was a 1949 graduate of Hartland High School and attended GMI. He married Barbara Kirshman September 2, 1951 in Hartland. He had resided in the Linden/Fenton area most of his life. Harold retired in 1980 from the GM Chevrolet V-8 Plant as a tool maker after 29 1/2 years of service. He was a member, past master, and marshall Emeritus of the Linden Masonic Lodge #132 F.&A.M. and was a member and past patron of the Linden Order of Eastern Stars #175. He also was involved in the Genesee County 4-H. He enjoyed hunting (he deer hunted until he was 82), fishing, and RV traveling. Surviving are: his wife of 66 years, Barbara; 6 children, Michael (Tiffany Ashbrook) Sloan of Gaines, Richard (Diane) Sloan of East Jordan, Phillip (Sharon) Sloan of Fenton, Judy (Larry) Auker of Fenton, Cynthia (Lyle) Healey of Linden, and Denise (Nick) Gremanis of Murrieta, CA; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 expected great-great grandchildren (twins); and many nieces and nephews.
