Harold Russell

RUSSELL, Harold Walter - Age 90, of Swartz Creek, lost his long - time battle with cancer, Saturday, March 14, 2015. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, March 20, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Bristol Cemetery in Flint. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to The Lions Club or Bristol United Methodist Church. Mr. Russell was born December 26, 1924 in Flint, the son of Dorr W. and Lulu R. (Schultheiss) Russell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Mr. Russell married Mary Jane Holcomb on August 24, 1957 in Angola, IN and she preceded him in death on April 26, 2012. Mr. Russell owned and operated Russell Well Drilling for over 35 years. He was a life member of the Swartz Creek Lions Club, Well Drillers Association, co-founder of Swartz Creek Recycling program and a member of the Swartz Creek Sportsman Club. Surviving are: daughters Lynne (Terry J.) Wisner, Michele Draper, both of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Wendy Sue (Matthew) Jennings, Amy Marie Wisner, Brandon M. Wisner, Donovan J. Wisner, Jennifer L. McNally, Joel D. Heathcoat; great-grandchildren, Emma Jane McNally, NaKaela May Heathcoat, Ava Jo Heathcoat and Kaydence Leigh Heathcoat.
