Harold Jefferson HARRIS

HARRIS, Harold Jefferson - Age 81, of Lake City, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd, Fenton. Pastor Walter McConkey, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 PM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Shriner's. Harold was born December 22, 1929 in Flint, the son of Lyman Jefferson and L.S. Jane (McGinnis) Harris. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. He married Velma Prime February 4, 1950 in Flint. Harold retired from Buick after 35 years of service. During his lifetime he built 7 homes and after his retirement he built and operated Super Kleen Laundromat in Lake City for 8 years. He was a member of Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lake City, Lake City Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. #408, Elf Khurafeh Shrine. Surviving are: wife, Velma; daughter, Diana and husband Larry McMillan of Fenton; son, Larry and wife Lori Harris of Lennon; special family friend, Brenda Harris of Fenton; 3 grandchildren, Kim and husband Bill Frescura of Goodrich, David Sutton of Flint and Sheena Harris of Fenton; 7 great grandchildren, Adam (Becky), Kasey, Anthony, Michael, Allysa, Jonny and Hyde; sister, Shirley and husband Walter Snow of Millington; sister-in-law, Snook and husband Bennie May of Alger; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Clarence, Ermine and Lyman Harris; 2 sisters, Emma Klock and Dorothy Zitterkoph.
