Brown, Harold Wayne “Boomer” - Harold Wayne Brown, age 81 of Durand, Michigan formerly of Flint, and Belleview, Florida passed away on November 23, 2022 surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.

One of eight children, Harold was born on July 2, 1941, at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint to the late Neil Laverne and Iris Cecelia (Rector) Brown. In May of 1960 Harold met the love of his life, Patricia Lillian Couture, at Varsity Cafeteria in Flint and they married on October 29, 1960. Harold started working at the tender age of fourteen and found his calling as a “Tin Knocker” and dedicated many years to Davanay Plumbing and Heating and Dee Cramer, Inc. He retired in 1998 from the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 7 out of Flint. Harold instilled a hard work ethic in his children by his example. Harold’s top priority was to his family, and you could see it in his love and dedication to them. He is the loving father of seven children, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Harold was a lifetime member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and a Charter member of G.W.R.R.A, F-2 in Davison. He was also a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, Christian Motorcycle Association and enjoyed many rides and activities with H.I.M. (Hogs in Ministry). He enjoyed many motorcycle trips over the years with his wife and friends, traveling all over the United States. Harold loved to maintain his home and garden and he loved to fish with his grandsons and great-grandsons. He loved feeding the local wildlife in his yard and truly enjoyed watching the birds, turkeys, bunnies and deer. He enjoyed all things trains and tractors, from models to train rides and tractor shows, he loved it all. Harold had the biggest heart and was always the first one to offer help to anyone, sometimes to the point of distress to his wife and daughters who kept telling him to take it easy and slow down! He had a great sense of humor and loved playing jokes on unsuspecting people including his doctors and nurses. He loved selling raffle tickets to benefit veterans and other charitable organizations, earning the nickname “Ticket Master”. Harold was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and volunteered for the Ushers Club for many years.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Patricia; daughters, Sherry (Chuck Schmidt); Julie (Faye) Zanotti; Michelle (Ed) Tomasek; sons, Tim and Michael (Chris). Grandchildren, Emily (Thomas) Moore, Stephen (Alicia) Zanotti, Nick (Sabrina) Brown, Niquita (Brody) Burke, Mina Bell, Edwin Tomasek, Bradley Tomasek, Nathan Tomasek, Janice Lee Tomasek, August Tomasek, Miles Tomasek, Jennifer Buchowski and Jacki Schmidt. Great-grandchildren, Tiara Moore, Thomas Moore, Tanner Moore, Austin Brown, Titan Brown, Brantley Brown, Raylan Brown, Wylde Knight, Jenna Zanotti, Grayson Zanotti, Harrison Zanotti, Jack Zanotti, and Luke Schmidt; his brother Carl (Jackie); many nieces and nephews; many friends and his beloved dog, Nikita.

He is proceeded in death by his son, Harold Wayne, Jr “Spin”; his daughter, Tammy, his parents, six siblings, his mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, his best friends, Ed Ford and Paul Rinoldo and his precious dog of fifteen years, Bella. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Harold’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army, which had an impact on his life as a child.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Avenue in Flint. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 starting at 4:00PM until 8:00PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek and on Friday, December 2, 2002 at 9:00AM until the Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
