Harold B. BENDER

BENDER, Harold B. - Age 90, passed away at Caretel Inns of Linden on July 3, 2011. He was born October 11, 1920 in Detroit, the son of Benjamin and Anna Bender. On December 28, 1942 he married the former Grace Wagner and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. She preceded him in death in 2002. Harold served his country during World War II in the Army Air Force. In 1958 he moved his family to the Brighton area and raised seven children on Hacker Road. Sharron (John) Kluck of Hartland Township, Harold (LeeAnn) Bender of Springfield, MO, Barbara Spencer of Petoskey, Joan Haka of Delaware, OH, Jeffrey (Cindy) Bender of Howell, Thomas of Howell and Peggy (Darren) Burton of Alton, IL all survive him. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He retired from the maintenance department of Hartland Schools in 1986. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass will be held 1PM Saturday, July 9, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church, 2099 N. Hacker Rd. Howell. Tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
