HERMAN, Harley E. - age 89, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Brian's House Hospice. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Brian's House Hospice. Mr. Herman was born July 21, 1922 in Sears, MI the son of Cleve and Blanche (Straight) Herman. He married Donna Witchell on December 28, 1984. Mr. Herman was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and was self employed Millwright for over 40 years. Surviving are: wife, Donna of Swartz Creek; eight children, Diane, Joy and Chris, all of Linden, Lorrie Grant of Durand, Machelle Pratt of Owosso, Michael Pratt of Seattle, Kevin (Lisa) Pratt of Fenton, Kimberly (DuWayne) Corder of Flint; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Kathy) Herman of Gladwin.
