OBERPRILLER, H. Herbert "Herb" - Of Flint, age 88, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Graveside service will be held 11AM Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon, Pastor Steven R. Maske officiating. Visitation will be 2-8PM Friday, June 19, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County Humane Society, St. Paul Lutheran Church or the charity of one's choice. Mr. Oberpriller was born in Coburg, Germany, on January 31, 1921, the son of the late George and Alma Oberpriller. He married Loretta Dasen in Flint on June 29, 1963 at Calvary Lutheran Church. Herb was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a dedicated Optician for 65 years and enjoyed helping people see better with their glasses whether or not they could pay for his services. Herb was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs and was always kind to any stray animal. Surviving are: wife, Loretta of Flint; sister, Anna (Maurice) Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Peanuts and Morris.
