H. Burton DONIGAN

DONIGAN, H. Burton - Age 89, of Flint, died May 3, 2012 at Woodhaven. Services will be 12 Noon Friday, May 11 at Hope United Methodist Church, 4467 Beecher Rd., Flint, Rev. John Ferris officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 11 AM until the time of service Friday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Hope United Methodist Church, McLaren Hospice or the Gideons. He was born November 26, 1922 in Millington the son of Horace and Olive (Hossler) Donigan. He was the 5th of 10 children. In January of 1943 he married Emma Margaret Hunt in Flint. She was the love of his life. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and attended classes at General Motors Institute. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked at AC Spark Plug for more than 30 years. In 1954 he was honored to pastor Dimond United Methodist Church. He served that church for six years. Surviving are: daughter Peggy and husband Paul Blanchard of Flushing; son Daniel and wife Debbie of Surprise AZ; grandchildren, Geoff (Holly) Curtis of Grand Blanc, Brian (Missy) Curtis of Ft. Mill SC, Abigail Donigan of Chicago, IL, Rachael (Chad) Koester of Surprise AZ; six great-grandsons, Colin, Nicolas, Mathieu, Ben, Joey Curtis and Nicholas Koester; brother Ralph Donigan of Hayward, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; his parents, Horace and Olive Donigan; sisters, Ila May, Leah, and Maxine; and brothers LJ, Archie, Russell, Roland and Harry.
