TURNER, Gwendolyn Edith - Age 92, of Flint, passed August 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, August 31 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Michael Case. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, New Lothrop . Visitation will be 4-8 PM Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Gwendolyn was born May 15, 1922 in New Lothrop , the daughter of Fredrick and Margaret (Hart) Waldie. After a brief career at the Owosso Business Institute she became the devoted wife to Dailey Turner for 50 happy years. In addition to caring for her husband and two sons, she enjoyed cooking, TV game shows, visiting with her friends and relatives, and her passion with Scrabble . She loved volunteering at her church, West Court Street Church of God. Surviving are: sons, Don Turner, David (Linda) Turner of Flint; granddaughters Melissa (Chad), Lisa; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Faith; She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Elwin Waldie; special caregiver Sandra Lorey; cousin Wava Russell; and a lifetime of friends.
