OWEN, Gwendolyn Fern  Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Living Joy of Flushing. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Tuesday, 1-4 & 6-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Gwendolyn was born September 7, 1923 in Deerfield, MI, the daughter of Romilly Hall and Annie May (Mitchell) Prouse. She was a 1941 graduate of Richmond High School. She was married to Gerald John Owen on June 9, 1946 in Imlay City; he preceded her in death on June 29, 1996. Mrs. Owen was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. She was employed by Swartz Creek Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1986. Surviving are: children, Kathy and husband Dennas Buchanan of Lapeer, David Owen and Robert Weycker, Timothy Owen, William and wife Isala Owen all of San Diego; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Carrie Owen of Swartz Creek; sister, Pearl Tuckett of Swartz Creek; sister-in-law, Ruth Prouse of Swartz Creek.
