Gwendolyn D. Mitts

MITTS, Gwendolyn D.  Age 91, of Flint, died Friday, November 7, 2003 at Community Home Health and Hospice. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of service Saturday. Gwendolyn was born in East Jordan, MI on June 27, 1912, the daughter of James and Hannah Ross who both preceded her in death. Mrs. Mitts was a resident of Flint from 1927 to 1998 then moving to Frankenmuth where she lived until 2002 when she returned to Flint. She was united in marriage to David J. Mitts in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Gwen retired in 1977 from McLaren Regional Medical Center where she had been employed for 23 years in the business office. Her brother, Ernest J. Ross preceded her in death in 1991. Surviving are: son, Ross and daughter-in-law, Helen (Bykaylo) Mitts of Flint; daughter, Cynthia (Poland) and son-in-law, Robert Byrd of Fenton; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
