Guy Hardy

HARDY, Guy Lewis "Louie" - Age 92 of Flint Township. passed away June 22, 2019. Funeral Services 12:30 PM Tuesday July 2, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Temporary Location, Hill Creek Church 5363 Hill Road Swartz Creek (Mundy Twp,). Mr. Joseph Warford officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation 5PM - 8 PM Sunday, and again 2PM - 8 PM Monday and 11:30 am until time service on Tuesday at Hill Creek Church. Louie was born April 12, 1927 in Pontiac the son of Vern Albert B. and Madeline Julia ( Reville) Hardy. He married Audrey J. Hunt in Flushing August 13, 1949. Louie was the lone, male graduate of Utley H.S. class of 1945. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Tank Gunner in WWII. Louie attended Radio School and was an avid Ham Radio operator, call signal WB8RJW. He was a very accomplished Radio Operator having contacted all 3007 counties in the US three times and the US Space Shuttle while in flight. Louie was a member of the Genesee County Radio Club. He enjoyed traveling and hunting and served as a Boy Scout Leader for many years. Surviving are: wife, Audrey; children, Pamela (Harold) Compton, Rodney (Kellie) Hardy, Randy (Esther) Hardy, Phillip Hardy, Dale (Gloria Jack) Hardy; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Butch (Marge) Hardy, and sister Joyce Miller. Louie was preceded in death by : parents; daughter, Karol S.  Hardy; sister, Helen Foreman; and brothers, Wilfred "Babe" Hardy, Wayne Hardy, and Vern Hardy, Jr..
