Grant Kheno

January 1, 2002 — July 10, 2022

Swartz Creek

KHENO Grant David  --  Age 20, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 10 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his family and spent his last days with his best friend, Ford.  Grant had his “2 best girls” at his side and was smiling at his Mom as he took his last breath.

Grant was born January 1, 2002; the son of George and Shannon (Selvia) Kheno.  He was 1 minute older than his twin brother, Garrett.  Grant graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 2020.   He enjoyed watching LA Clippers basketball, TikTok and YouTube videos.   Grant loved food trucks, playing cards with his family, and adding to his elaborate shoe collection.  His absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with his dog and best friend, Ford. Grant had the most amazing smile, boisterous laugh, and a contagious sense of humor.  Even during cancer treatment, Grant was always cracking jokes and had such a positive outlook.

Grant was a lifelong resident of Swartz Creek.  He loved his family fiercely and thoroughly enjoyed being the center of attention.  Grant leaves his parents, George and Shannon Kheno, older sister Alissa (Joshua) Hect, and twin brother Garrett Kheno (Alexis Wells-Henry) to carry on his memory.  He is also survived by his Grandparents-Bill and Nancy Selvia, Cathy and Mike West, and Mark Allred; Aunts and Uncles- Billy and Sheryl Selvia, Jack Powers and Terri and Mike Babb; Sandy Johnson (Roger)Cousins- Courtney Selvia (Jon Strom), Kerri (Tyler) Mattingly, Nick (Jaclyn) Reid, Whitney Reid, Jack Powers (Julia Edwards) and Joe Powers (who were more like his brothers); as well as many extended family members and friends. Grant was welcomed into heaven by his grandfather, George Kheno Sr. and his very special aunt, Maggie Powers.

The Kheno family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff at Mott Children’s Hospital 7 East- especially Grant’s favorites-Diane, Scott, Emily and Ashley (“Short Stack”), as well as family friends Tricia Hosyrami, Jean Clark, Billy Nannoshi, Jennifer Hect-Kelly (“my Jen”) and Chuck Kelly.  Grant fought hard and always knew he had an Army of people praying and supporting him.

A celebration of Grant’s life will be held Thursday, July 14th at 11 AM  at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI  48473.
