ROBBINS, Gordon A. -- Age 96, of Fenton and Zephyrhills, FL, died February 14, 2007 at East Pasco Hospice in Dade City, FL. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, February 20 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Rev. Arthur Reich officiating. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc with military honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post 3243. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday, 1-8 PM Monday, with a VFW Memorial service 7 PM Monday evening. Mr. Robbins was born January 19, 1911, in Fenton, the son of George and Florence (Stanley) Robbins. He married Lillian E. Ogreen on May 25, 1935; she preceded him in death February 19, 2002. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0038 and Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Woverton Post 3243, both for 62 years. He was also a member of the D.A.V. Post 122, the Cooties, and the 40 & 8. He retired from G.M. Chevrolet Metal Fab. He was a U.A.W. member. Surviving are: two children, Jacqueline and husband Dave LaFerney of Fairfield Glade, TN, Stanley and wife Ruth Robbins of Fenton and Zephyrhills, FL; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; 1 brother; his wife; two children, Patricia Ann Reich and Gordon Robbins; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
