Gordon Calvin Hammonds

HAMMONDS, Gordon Calvin - Age 77, died Monday, June 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held 1-9 PM Wednesday and from 11 AM until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Gordon Hammonds Memorial Fund c/o Kimmy Hammonds. Gordon was born December 3, 1933 in Knox Co., KY, the son of Abe and Nancy Lee (Bingham) Hammons. He spent most of his life trucking and selling produce. Mr. Hammons loved sports, especially U of M Football and Kentucky Basketball. Surviving are: children, Kimmy Hammonds (Sherry), Keith Hammonds (Marcia), Teena Hammonds (Brian Crain), Cynthia Whick (Lester), Sunshine Hammonds-Garcia (Lester); 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Randy, Dora and Abe Jr. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Sheree and Marissa "Missa"; sisters, Marie and Brenda; brother, Wendell.
