Gloria Spalding

February 8, 1922 — July 29, 2015

SPALDING, Gloria E. - Age 93, of Fenton, went home to be with her Lord on July 29, 2015. Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Frederick A. Spalding and her grandson Douglas L. Spalding. She is survived by: son, Arthur C. Spalding (Jo-Ann); daughters, Janet O'Connell (Jon) and Patricia K. Mudge (Dick); 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Babcock; brother, Bill Phelps; sister-in-law, Peggy Miller; and a large extended family spread from coast to coast. She graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1939. Gloria received a Medical Office Assistant Certificate from Highland Park Junior College in 1966 and became the office Manager of Dr. Harry E. Meisner in Southfield, MI, after beginning as a Medical Office Assistant. She had 2 green thumbs and enjoyed nursing house plants to life that no one else could make survive. Gloria was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Fenton. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held 10AM at the First Presbyterian Church Fenton on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Fenton Read and Feed Program, Kids Food Basket of Grand Rapids, Gideon's International, or a charity of one's choice.
