Gloria Phillips

PHILLIPS, Gloria - Age 91, of Grand Blanc formerly of Fenton, made her transition,  Tuesday, March 8, 2022.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 11, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc (A live stream of the service will be available on Gloria's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes).  Rev. Stephanie Sorensen officiating.  Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Life Enrichment Center, c/o of the Peace Garden, 2512 S. Dye Road, Flint, MI 48532.

Gloria was born August 10, 1930 in Detroit, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Wells) Young.  She was a 1948 graduate of Redford Union High School; and she attended Wayne State University.  She received a Bachelor's Degree in English from University of Michigan Flint and her Masters Degree in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University.  She married Randall Eugene Phillips September 23, 1950 in Detroit and he preceded her in death February 11, 1987.  She had resided in Grand Blanc since 1986 coming from Fenton.  Gloria had been employed by the Flint Board of Education and Probate Court in Flint.  She was a founding member of Life Enrichment Center in Flint.  She was Mrs. Flint in 1963 and she was a science of mind practitioner.

Surviving are: her children, Jeff (Sue) Phillips of Fenton, Jamie Phillips of Grand Blanc, Jon Phillips of Grand Blanc, Janine (Jeff) Johnson of Fenton, and Jason Phillips of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Nick (Lauren), Amy (Terry), Melissa (Drew), Brad (Melissa), Gabi, Glory, and Colton; great grandchildren, Avery, Lola, Walker, Lennon, and Lorelei; brother, Peter (Diane) Boughan; sister, Pamela Boughan of Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; father, Charles Boughan; and sisters, Peggy Havilick, Susan Ormanian, and Jo Summers.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
