Maricene was born on August 1, 1947 in East Prairie, Missouri to the late William O'Neal & Ruby Margaret (Futrell) Croney. She graduated from East Prairie High School, class of 1965 and furthered her education at Baker College of Flint where she earned her associate's degree in computer sciences. She married the love of her life, Billie Arthur Maloney, on December 24, 1966 and together they were blessed with three children. She was employed at McLaren Hospital in Flint for over 26 years and then at the Genesys Outpatient Surgery Center for 7 years. After nearly 30 years in the health care industry, Maricene retired in 2015. She was an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed decorating, making flower arrangements, quilting and gardening. She was lovingly known as "Nana" by not only her 10 grandchildren, but all those who knew her. She cherished her grandchildren dearly, always attending their school and sports events. She was recently promoted to "Great-Nana" - a title she was very proud of - with the birth of her first great-grandson, Grayson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Billie, her children: Lori (Brian) Dunn of Grand Blanc; Brent (Becky) Maloney of Munising; and Mark (Sheila) Maloney of Lapeer. Her grandchildren: Justin (Kaelyn) Dunn; Matthew (Melody) Maloney; Ashley (Jaron) LaFlamme; Joshua Maloney; Trevor Dunn; Aidan Maloney; Reagan Dunn; Michael Maloney; Tallula Maloney; Audrey Maloney; Great-grandson, Grayson LaFlamme, and her siblings: Bobby (Betty) Croney and Joyce (Terry) Bell, all of Sikeston, Missouri.
