Glenda Downer

Downer, Glenda - Age 79, of Fenton, died October 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 15 at the Linden Free Methodist Church 13274 S. Linden Rd., Linden, Pastor John Price officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, October 14  at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, Fenton Chapel,  1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, and 10-11 AM Friday October 15 at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Covenant Hills Campgrounds or Linden Free Methodist Church . Glenda was born November 4, 1941 in Mendenhall, Mississippi, the daughter of Granville Hord and Roma (Rankin) Hord. She married William Downer on November 25, 1961 in Flint.  Glenda retired from General Motors SPO in 2000 with 30 years of service. She was an active member of the Linden Free Methodist Church and had served as their Treasurer.  Surviving are: husband of nearly 60 years, William Downer; brother, William (Debra) Hord of Swartz Creek; step-brother, Bernard (FloraMae) Bedell of Linden; step-sister  Dolores "Dody" Bedell of Linden;  step-sister, Joyce (Stan) Helm of Byron; step-brother, Gerald (Carol) Bedell of Linden, brother-in-law Dean Sharp of Linden. She was preceded in death by her, father Granville Hord; mother, Roma Hord Bedell; step-father,  Ford Bedell; her children, Melanie and Rodney; sister, Jimmie Williams, and step-sisters Eileen Neilson, Myrna Standridge, and Annette Sharp.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
