Gladys Shamblin

SHAMBLIN, Gladys Pauline, age 88, of Holly, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at Fenton Extended Care. Funeral Services will be held 1PM Monday, April 23, 2007 at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. Visitation will be held 12PM until time of service at the cemetery.  Gladys was born September 22, 1918, in Ozark, Arkansas the daughter of Asberry and Ethel (Pyron) Standridge. She married John Shamblin on January 1, 1939 in Ozark, Arkansas and he preceded her in death. Gladys was employed as a sales clerk for Sears and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Sterling Heights. Surviving are her 2 children, John Shamblin and wife Cathy of Shelby Township, Deborah Cornell and husband Thomas of Holly; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Hoyt Standridge and Harold Standridge of Oklahoma; and sister, Ouita McLaughlin.
