Gladys Marion Priest

PRIEST, Gladys Marion  Age 86, of Burton, MI/Scottsdale, AZ, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Hospice of the Valley, Scottsdale, AZ. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 7, 2005 at New Community Church of God, 3472 Lennon Rd., Flint with Pastor Jim Davey officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society for Research or American Heart Association. Gladys was born January 9, 1919 in Flint, the daughter of Harold W. and Luella M. (Carpenter, of the Carpenter Rd. family) Woggermon and was a 1936 graduate of Flint Central High School. She married Delbert Priest on April 19, 1938 in Flint. Gladys was a member of New Community Church of God, a leader for two separate troops with the Girl Scouts of America, a member of D.A.V., a volunteer for the March of Dimes for 25 years, an election inspector for over 25 years with the City of Burton and a member of the Burton Senior Center. Her most important role was that of a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. Surviving are: husband, Delbert of Burton/Scottsdale, AZ; three daughters, Deanna Dee J. Sturk of Burton, Shirley L. Ballentine of Scottsdale, AZ, Linda D. Priest and fiancâ?s, Cary Youpee of Helena, MT; six grandchildren, Dennis (Dora) Sturk, Timothy (Sue) Sturk, Darin (Sheila) Sturk, Yvonne (Earl) Miller, Stacie (Mike) French, Bryan Ballentine; three step-grandchildren, Tyler, Kammie and Cody Youpee; 11 great-grandchildren, Jason Sturk, Zachary Sturk, Todd Sturk, Joel Sturk, Jewell Ann Sturk, Wyatt Sturk, Kala French, Joshua French, Jessica Miller, Brittany Miller, Sarah Miller; one great-great-granddaughter, Swae Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Judy Priest of Box Elder, SD; several nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by: her parents; son-in-law, Gerald Sturk; brother, Harold Woggermon; father-in-law, John Priest.
