MURPHY, Gladys M. - Age 91, of Fenton, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Services will be held 2:00P.M. Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00P.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Halsey United Methodist Church. Mrs. Murphy was born June 6, 1918 to Bert and Anna (Lottridge) Galloway. She was a graduate of Fenton High School. She married Delno I. Murphy on November 7, 1942 in Fenton and he preceded her in death on May 29, 2000. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church, a sewing teacher and a 4H leader for 35 years. Surviving are: three children, Katherine and husband, Roger Drury of Durand, Gerald Murphy and wife, Karen of Gaines, Raeann Galentine of CA. Six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. Her parents; sister, Alethea Bloss; brothers, Keith, Ray and Floyd Galloway also preceded her in death.
