HOFFMAN, Gladys E. - Age 85, of Fenton, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Chaplain Terry Clees officiating. Burial in Dawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM and Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for breast cancer research. Gladys was born December 31, 1930 the daughter of Frank and Lavina (Hauri) Butterfield. She married Delbert Hoffman in Angola, IN December 11, 1951. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Surviving are: 2 sons, Doug (Janet) Hoffman and Frank (Sherry) Hoffman; 5 daughters, Carol (Jerry) Austin, Helen (Scott) Poinsett, Dolly (George) Patterson, Betty (James) Timbs, and Sally Hoffman; 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Floyd and Lester Butterfield; and sister, Helen Quackenbush. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David; daughter, Linda; granddaughter, Becky; and brother, Rudy Butterfield. Thank you to her neighbors, Marv Upton and Mike Cash for the years of taking care of her yard and driveway.
