Gladys Charlotte Elliot

ELLIOT, Gladys Charlotte -- Age 96, of Flint Township, died July 11, 2011 at Hyde Park Assisted Living. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Friday, July 15 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor M. Dean Stewart officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday. Those desiring may make contribtuions to the Hurley Burn Unit or the charity of choice. Gladys was born April 22, 1915 in Flint the daughter of Holden and Charlotte (Withey) Woughter. She was married to Robert A. Elliot on July 19, 1937 in Flint; he preceded her in death September 23, 1984. She was a member of the McLaren Auxiliary and the Christian Challengers Community Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing cards, driving and game shows. She was a talented artist and cake maker. She had designed many backdrops for Christmas at Whiting over the years, and lovingly made many wedding cakes for family and friends. Surviving are: two daughters Joan Calkins of Flushing, Carole Noye of Flushing; five grandchildren, Robert (Betsy) Calkins of Clio, Julie (Mike) Korn of Grand Blanc, Dale (Amiee) Noye of Gaines, Dean (Jenny) Noye of Ft. Wayne, IN, Drew (Cindy) Noye of Ft. Wayne IN; eight great-grandchildren, Brandi Korn, Megan Calkins, Tyler Sanborn, Cody Noye, Brock Noye, Allison Noye, Lindsay Noye, Emily Noye; sister-in-law Dorothy Woughter of Flint; several nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Dallas Woughter, and Dr. Harold Woughter and wife Ada. Gladys' family extends a special thanks to Hyde Park Assisted Living, Heartland Hospice, and her mailman and friend Jim Hall.
