Gladys Cooper

COOPER, Gladys P.- Age 95, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, January 4, 2008 at Young At Heart.  Funeral Services will be held 11:30 AM Monday, January 7, 2008 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church.  Pastor LuAnn Rourke officiating.  Burial will take place at 2:30 PM Monday at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM  Sunday and at the church from 10:30 AM until time of service Monday.  Those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice.  Gladys was born August 24, 1912 in Flint, the daughter of Alvin and Eila (Johnson) Bennett.  She married Harry J. Cooper July 23, 1931 and he preceded her in death July 18, 2002.  Surviving are: 4 children, Harry Cooper, Jr. and wife Alice of Haines City, FL, Mary Horton and wife Douglas of Swartz Creek, Eila Krause and husband Floyd of Fenton, Richard Cooper and wife Sharon of Sebewaing; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Bennett of St. Helen; 2 sisters, Lucille Doughty of Davison, Eva Minniear of St. Augustine, FL; many nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Alice Chapel and Shirley Pease; 2 brothers, Robert and Alvin Bennett.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff's of Young At Heart and Avalon Hospice.  Online condolences and tributes may be posted at the Obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
