Giselle "Gigi" Heron

HERON, Giselle M. (Jenkins) - July 21, 1961-January 1, 2023, 61 years young. Affectionately known as Gigi, was dealt a challenging hand, but she faced it head on.

There are so many words used to describe her: determined, strong, caring and stubborn, but the greatest ones were sister, aunt, and friend. Gigi was dedicated to family and friends, always willing to try new adventures from whitewater rafting to going on cruises and traveling to see friends who had moved to other states. Spending time with family was most important to her whether she was watching her nephews and nieces play sports or going to the movies, or the Flint Generals games.

Gigi retired from Creative Foam in Fenton after 25 years where she created another family that she loved and spoke of often and fondly. She endured great pain over the past years, but every day she would walk into Creative Foam and stand on her feet for 10 hours and never complain. She was a great inspiration to many and will be truly missed.

Giselle is survived by her three brothers and two sisters, Maureen Glaser, Daniel Jenkins, Dennis Jenkins, Gregory Jenkins and Yvette (Morris) Pickler; nieces and nephews, Simone Glaser, Nicole (Marshall) Chavez, Ashleigh, Chase and Allison Jenkins, Chandler Gray, Joshua and Zachary Pickler, Joey and Alexandra Heron; many cousins all over the U.S. and Canada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Florence Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Danette Gray and Teresa Jenkins.

A memorial service will be held 10:30AM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Duffield Methodist Church 7001  S. Duffield Rd., Durand. Reverend Jason M. Dover officiating.  A gathering and luncheon will follow the service from 11AM-1PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions in her memory to help the family with expenses c/o Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.
