Gilford Gay

GAY, Gilford Franklin "Frank"- Age 74, of Germfask, formerly of Owosso, died Thursday, February 4, 2016. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, February 9 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Don Neuville officiating. Visitation will be held 4 - 8 PM Monday with a Masonic Service at 7 PM; and 11 AM until the time of service on Tuesday. Interment later at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek VFW Post 3720. Frank was born December 9, 1941 in Luxora, Arkansas, the son of Gilford Paul and Lucy Irene (Sells) Gay. He married Brenda Glass on June 8, 1963 in Linden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 101st Airborne. He owned and operated Franklin Design. He was a member of the Swartz Creek VFW where he served as a past Post Commander and was a member of the Color Guard. Frank was also a member of the Linden Masonic Lodge, and was a Shriner 32nd degree of the Bay City Consistory. Frank is survived by his wife, Brenda; two children, Tom (Renee) Gay, Michelle (Joe) Poli; brother, Ken Gay; sister, Candy Reynolds; grandchildren, Trevor and Dalton Gay, Drew, Taylor and Morgan Walter, Tre Poli and Nicholas Luchenbill; very special lifelong friends, Dick Cross and Chris Cannon; many nieces and nephews.
