Gilbert D. -Red- Harrington

HARRINGTON, Gilbert D. Red  Age 83, of Flint, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Monday, October 10, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Red was born February 19, 1922 in Flint, the son of Russell and Hazel (Cummins) Harrington. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp, a life member of the Flint Elks Club and the Elks Glee Club. Red was a firefighter with the City of Flint for 25 years. Surviving are: wife, Helen Ruth Harrington of Flint; two daughters, Susan and husband, Richard Truxal of Pittsburgh, PA, Sally and husband, Oscar Wolfbrandt of Mecosta, MI; five grandchildren; eight grandchildren; brother, Donald Harrington and wife, Gloria of Lake Havasu City, AZ.
