Gertrude Agnes Easton 'Gert'

Easton, Gertrude Agnes 'Gert', age 97, of Fenton, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Crestmont Healthcare Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Saturday, December 2, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. The family will receive friends Saturday 10:30AM until time of service at church. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-8PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A Rosary will be prayed 7PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign. Gert was born October 30, 1909 in Fenton, the daughter of Charles and Ellen (Dunn) Berryman. She graduated from Fenton High School and had lived in Fenton most of her life. Gert married Russell Easton on October 11, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the St. Catherine Guild and prior to retirement, was employed by The State Bank as head teller. Surviving are her 4 nieces, Barbara Pougnet of Flint, Carol Van Buren (William) of Holland, MI, Nancy Swanbeck of Fenton, Carol Carmody of Florida; special friend and caregiver, Sandy Fetterhoff (Art) of Fenton; and many loving family members, especially Tom Easton and family of Davison, Gwen Easton of Flint, Rusty Easton and family of Big Rapids, Kathy Jo Bourassa and family of Flint. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 3 sisters, Jennie, Ellen, and Catherine.
