Germaine Maniez

MANIEZ, Germaine - Age 96, of Wayne, passed peacefully in her sleep early Saturday, June 5, 2021.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 14, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI.  Pastor Brad Foster will officiate. (A live stream of the service can be found at Germaine's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com) Burial will follow at Hodge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 12-8 PM and Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  A luncheon will follow the burial at the Fenton V.F.W., 1148 N. Leroy St, Fenton. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider making a donation to Boys Town on Germaine’s behalf.

Germaine was born November 14, 1924 in Bicknell, IN, the daughter of Henry and Germaine (Manouvier) Paillard.  She was a 1942 graduate of Ziegler High School in Ziegler, IL.  She married George Maniez, Sr. April 26, 1946 in Wayne. Germaine enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, and putting puzzles together with friends and family. She also enjoyed going to the city park for outside concerts with her friend.

Survived by: her children, George Maniez, Jr. of Fenton, Richard (Toni) Maniez of Wayne and Joyce (Rich) Rushlow of Wayne; grandchildren, Rich (Val) Maniez of Wayne, Kristy (Joe) LaCombe of Indiana, Misty (Ray) Blair of Westland, Robert (Michelle) Rushlow of Howell, Deborah (Shawn) Reed of Tennessee, and Heather Rushlow (Kevin) of Westland; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by:  her husband George Maniez, Sr.; her parents, Henry and Germaine Paillard; her brother, Henry Paillard, Jr.; and her sister, Lucy Moore.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
