LACEY, Gerard C. - passed Oct 20 at age 92 after a long and healthy life. Services will be held 12 PM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral homes. Born in Detroit to Ernest and Margaret (Duggan) Lacey, his career was long and varied, first as a Lt. in the WWII Pacific fleet aboard LST 818, then as an analyst for Dun & Bradstreet, followed by 15 years with Michigan State Fair, then as Asst. Director Oakland County Parks and Rec, and notably the Dean of the College, Northwood Institute Indiana campus. Graduating from Alma College in 1949, he met Carol, and married in 1952. Author of "The Legacy of the DeLacy, Lacey, Lacy Family 1066-1994" and an avid historian, he never tired of sharing stories from his life, ancestry and history with everyone. He is preceded by Carol and survived by son Gerard (Gerry) Lacey II, daughter-in-law Char and grand-daughter Micaela, of Linden; and son Scott Lacey, daughter-in-law Connie, and grand-children Sarah and Matthew of Clarkston.
