Gerald "Jerry" Lyles

LYLES, Gerald F. "Jerry" - Age 78, of Linden, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton; Fr. David Harvey celebrant. (Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Jerry's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com) The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Friday at the church. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. John Outreach. Jerry was born October 17, 1943, in Flint, the son of  Leo and Pauline (Dobosh) Lyles.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Jerry married Kathleen "Kathy" Hogan on June 30, 1967, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. He retired from General Motors with 32 years of service. Jerry was a proud and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are: his wife of 55 years, Kathy; two sons, Steven (Veronica) Lyles and Scott (Melissa) Lyles; three grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, and Brooke; siblings, Jeanette Grantner, David Lyles (Cathy) and Myrna (Tommy) Johnson; brother-in-law, Dan (Ann) Hogan; several nieces and nephews.
