Geraldine A. Walden

WALDEN,  Geraldine A., age 83 of Flint Twp. died at Avalon Hospice, Friday, September 7, 2007.  Mrs. Walden was born in Saginaw on January 6, 1924.  She lived in the Flint area for many years and married Jesse Walden in Flint in 1976. She worked for General Motors Parts and Service for 25 years, retiring in 1979.  After retiring, she and her husband moved to Arkansas where they enjoyed camping, dancing and all the pleasures retirement meant to them. They returned to Flint in 1994.  Surviving is her husband, Jesse; her daughter, Carolyn George and husband Jim of Gaines, her son Kenneth Hopson and wife Nancy of Swartz Creek, her step-daughter, Melody Florinki and husband Bob of Durand.  Also surviving are 4 grandchildren;  Mike and Michelle George, Melinda Hopson, Rebecca Cronkright and a step-granddaughter,  Stephanie Steinke.  Funeral services will be  1:00 P.M. Monday, September 10, 2007 at the Fenton Rd. Baptist Church, G-4386 Fenton Rd., Pastor Michael Stallard will officiate.  Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.  Memorial contributions in her name may be offered to the American Diabetes Association.  Mrs. Walden's family wishes to give their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Avalon Hospice and  to Dr. Mendoza.  Online condolences or tributes may be posted on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
