Geraldine Ruth (Runyan) McCauley

January 18, 1937 — February 8, 2025

Fenton

MCCAULEY, Geraldine “Gerry” Ruth (Runyan) - age 88, a lifelong resident of Fenton, died Saturday, February 8, 2025. A memorial mass will be planned for spring. Gerry was born January 18, 1937 in Fenton, the first child of Ward Daniel and Alice Theodora (Trollman) Runyan. In her early years, their house at the apple orchard had no furnace or running water. Gerry attended the one-room Denton schoolhouse, and St John school, and graduated Fenton High School class of 1956. She married Ronald J. McCauley on June 15, 1957 in Fenton. They were members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Gerry helped Ron in the real estate and property management business. They were resident managers of Crestview Apartments for 12 years, where Gerry raised lush flower gardens on the common grounds. She was a true country girl who loved working the dirt in the sunshine. Her favorites you can plant in her honor: Geraniums, petunias, marigolds, cosmos, bleeding heart, dahlias, Russian sage, and Shasta daisies. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Kathryn McCauley (John Beck); son Timothy (Natalie) McCauley; two grandchildren, Kevin and Ellen McCauley; brother Tom Runyan, sister Kathryn Joan Runyan, sisters-in-law Marian (Albert) Grigsby and Mary (Larry) Liesen-Ball, and special friend Donna Renason. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald (2012), brother-in-law Alfred (Connie) McCauley, and special cousin Sally (Jim) Martin. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. John Educational Foundation or St. John Outreach.
