Gerald Edward Wagner

Wagner, Gerald "Jerry" E. - Age 75, of Swartz Creek ., went to be with the Lord, Monday March 25, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 12:00PM Thursday March 28, 2013 at Cornerstone Baptist Church 6373 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Chris Yager officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, MIller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and 11:00AM until time of service at the church . Those desiring may make contributions to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund. Gerald was born January 30, 1938 in Goodrich, Michigan, the son of the late Thurland and Gertrude Wagner. Mr. Wagner married Eleanor Gentry (Sluder) Wagner on June 26, 1988 in Burton. Jerry served country in the Army during the Korean War. He worked at the General Motors Metal Fabrication Plant for 39 years. He was an active member and usher for over 30 years with his good friend Harold Phillips at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Jerry loved Detroit Tiger Baseball , University of Michigan Sports and weight lifting. Surviving are: wife Eleanor of Swartz Creek; children, Lisa Wagner of NV, Darla Burnash of Grand Blanc, Todd (Dawn) Wagner of Owosso, Elizabeth (Mike) Warren of Burton, Lois (Marvin) Smith of Swartz Creek, Alan (Gay) Sluder of Davison; 12 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren; sister Marlene Bleau of Flint; many nieces and nephews.
