Gerald Stohlman

August 18, 1942 — April 17, 2016

STOHLMAN, Gerald Robert - Age 73, of Grand Blanc, died April 17, 2016, surrounded by his family at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, April 20, at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Pastor Darrell Foltz officiating. Interment to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc. Jerry was born in Flint on August 18, 1942, the son of Chester and Thelma Stohlman. He graduated from Davison High School in 1961 and served in the United States Navy for four years. He married Joan A. Ballard on May 2, 1964 in Belmar, New Jersey. He worked as a Kiln Loader at GM and AC Delphi for 44 years, retiring in 2006. Jerry is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Joan; children, Gerald, Jr. (Doreen) Stohlman of Mt. Holly, North Carolina, twins-JoAnne (Bill) Lawrence of Gaines, Lisa (Greg) Code of Flint, and Paula Stohlman of Holly; grandchildren, Steven, Colby (Takara), Robert (Megan), Ashley (Nick), Brian, Kaitlyn, (Ethan), Jacob, Elizabeth, Chandler, and Ben; great grandchildren, Riley, Keira, Eli, Lance, and Logan; and step-brother, Steve (Dana) Brandt. He was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Thelma and William Brandt; step father, Paul D. Matthews; brother, Dennis Matthews.
