PARRISH, Gerald James 'Jerry' - Age 74, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Rev. Fr. Amos Wischmeyer officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Sunday and 1-3 and 6-8 PM Monday. Burial of cremated remains will take place Saturday, March 25, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army or the North End Soup Kitchen. Jerry was born November 25, 1931 in Flint, the son of Harris A. and Lena L. (Cousins) Parrish. He married Betty Kachmer September 29, 1954 in Port Sanilac and has resided in Swartz Creek since 1965 coming from Flint. He retired from the Flint Police Department after 23 years of service as a Detective Lieutenant in the Homicide Department and then worked with the Flint Township Police Department. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Surviving are: wife, Betty; 6 children, William and wife Cheryl Parrish, Mary and husband Bob Goins, Linda and husband Henryk Bogdanowicz, Laura and husband Frank Whitson, Amy and husband Fred Pajtas, Jerry and wife Angie Parrish; 14 grandchildren; sister, Sally and husband Bill Reetz; brother, Michael and wife Dawn Parrish; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Webb and Rose Parrish. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson and 4 brothers.  'Wake me in an hour'.
