O'Toole, Gerald David - died October 11, 2021 at Banner Baywood Heart Hospital in Mesa, AZ. He was born October 10, 1939 in Flint, the son of Harry Angus and Marie Dolores O'Toole. Gerald graduated from St. Mary School, Mt. Morris, Class of 1957. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force after which he entered the Salvatorian Seminary and St. Gregory Seminary. After leaving the seminary, he was employed at GM as supervisor of scheduling material and production control. He retired after 30 years of employment. On June 13, 1981, he was ordained a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Lansing. He has been a deacon at St. Mary Queen of Angels, Swartz Creek, St. Mary in Durand and presently at St. Mary Magdalene in Gilbert, AZ. He was a Knight of Columbus in good standing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Bernard, Donald and Jack; sister, Dolores Jeanne Goetzke. Surviving are: sisters, Joanne (Bob) Forman and Aneda (Bill) Allen; sister-in-law, Virginia O'Toole; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was a devoted Catholic and an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling and his favorite sport was golf. He was the greatest storyteller and loved telling jokes. Services will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Gilbert, AZ. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 with a Rosary at 6PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A graveside service will be held 11 am Monday, October 25, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Morris.
