Gerald Mundy

MUNDY, Gerald H. - age 82, of Swartz Creek, died April 5, 2021. Services will be held 12:30 PM Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Gerald was born July 19, 1938 in Swartz Creek, the son of Charles H. and Frieda (Russell) Mundy. He was a 1956 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and married Mary A. Miller on April 10, 1961. Gerald retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1980. During his time in the Army he served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division and a helicopter pilot in the 82nd Airborne Division. He served in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. Surviving are:  wife, Mary of Swartz Creek; son, Daniel (Melissa) Mundy of Swartz Creek; two grandsons, Kyle (Amanda) Mundy and Cameron H. (Mariah) Mundy; great-grandson, Cameron David Mundy; siblings, Dick (Carolyn) Mundy of Howell, Tom (Rosemary) Mundy of Durand, Doreen (Mark) Smith of Fenton, and Roy (Laurie) Mundy of Davison; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
