MUGRIDGE, Gerald F. - Age 79, of Burton, died at home, Saturday, January 23, 2016 after a long illness. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6340 Roberta St., Burton. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint Monday from 3-8 PM and at church Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the American Lung Association or Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Jerry was born at home on Rawlins St. in Port Huron on December 28, 1936. His parents were Clarence F. and Alma (Allen) Mugridge. He married Marguerite Fraley on September 3, 1960 in Lakeport. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and was stationed at the Port of Bordeaux in France. When he returned home, he went to work for General Motors at Fisher Body #1 in Flint. Jerry retired from GM when the plant closed in 1989. Later, he worked for Sharp Funeral Homes for 20 years. Jerry enjoyed sports - especially the Detroit Tigers, working in his garden, and annual camping trips. The best part for him was sitting around the campfire, drinking, telling stories and jokes. Jerry is survived by his wife, Marguerite; 3 daughters, Lori Mugridge of New Lothrop, Julie (Don Brown) Graham of Davison, and Kim (Lou) Kusalik of Davison; son, Mark Mugridge of Cherryville, NC; six grandchildren, Lauren and Brooke Graham, Lydia and Sarah Mugridge, Steven and Amanda Kusalik; two brothers, Al (Betty) Mugridge of Florida and Ron (Marge) Mugridge of Port Huron; and a multitude of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
