Gerald Austin Kettle

KETTLE, Gerald Austin  Age 72, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, July 30, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 1 PM Monday, August 2, 2004 at Genesee Road Church of God, 4344 N. Genesee Rd., Genesee with Rev. Bruce Badder celebrant. Interment will be held at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Mr. Kettle was born September 14, 1931 in Flint, the son of Duane E. and Sallie N. (Lahring) Kettle. He married Kathleen V. Woolwine on October 26, 1963 at Court Street United Methodist Church. Mr. Kettle retired from General Motors as a welder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Kettle was a member of the Genesee Road Church of God where he was a former elder and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed fishing and sports of all kinds. Surviving are: wife, Kathleen V. Kettle; four children, Richard Kettle, Danny Kettle and wife, Cindy, Barbara Herkner, Belinda and husband, Michael Steiner; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Martica Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
