Gerald Samuel Heffner

Heffner, Gerald "Jerry", age 76 of Fenton, passed away at home and joined his heavenly family on July 21, 2023.  A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Sharp Funeral Home - Fenton Chapel located at 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Michigan.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the funeral home and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jerry to the Henry Ford Hospital (www.henryford.com).

Gerald was born on March 14, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to the late James Phillip and Josephine Mary (James) Heffner.  He served our country with the United States Air Force from 1966 - 1970 where he rose to the rank of Sergeant.  He worked as an Air Traffic Controller and retired from MBS Airport in 2013.  Jerry was an active member with PATCO, member of the Fenton VFW #3243, active member of the Kandahar Ski Club and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Jean.  Sons, Jerry Heffner of Fenton and Matt (Susan) Heffner of Fenton.  Step-children, Nick (Rhonda) Teffner of Gladwin; Tony Teffner of Athens;, Allison (Tony) Wagnitz of Beaverton; and Julie Teffner of Fenton.  Grandchildren, Gabe; Kassidy; VaDawn; Austin; Marcus; Samantha; and Andrew.  Sister, Carol Vassler of Linden; sister-in-law, Shirley Heffner of Fenton.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, one aunt and extended family.

Mr. Heffner was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn in 1998.  Parents and brother, Jim Heffner.
