Gerald 'Jerry' R. Hall, Sr.

HALL, Gerald Jerry R., Sr.  Age 70, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at his residence. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, June 24, 2004 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek with Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Genesee Township. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Bill Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jerry was born May 28, 1934 in Flint, MI and was raised by his loving grandmother, Mary Ellen Strobridge. Jerry and Barbara Wildfong were married on May 9, 1952. He has been a long time resident of the Swartz Creek and Linden Area. He is a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek. Jerry was in the grocery business for 14 years, owning his own store Jerrys Market in Flint for 4 years. He was then a route salesman for Paramount Potato Chips and a member of Teamsters Local 332, retiring in 1987 after 25 years. Upon early retirement Jerry became involved in the family owned Greenhouse business. Jerry is survived by: his wife, Barbara; five sons, Jerry and Carol of Argentine Twp., Mike and Jan of Plymouth, Greg and Robin of Utah, Steve and Gisele of Colorado, Chuck and Amber of Swartz Creek; two daughters, Mary and Roger Sovis of Oxford, Laura and Pete McGuire of Auburn; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; aunts, Thelma Torok and Loretta Blackburn of Nevada. Jerry was preceded in death by: his son, Bill Hall in 1978, grandmother, Mary in 1968; two aunts, Dotty Harburn in 1999 and Irene Stone in 2003.
